Position Overview
Under the general direction of the Deputy Corporate Officer, the Administrative Assistant performs a wide variety of confidential administrative duties at a senior level and provides technical support to all administrative functions associated with the office of Mayor and Councillors, Chief Administrative Officer, Corporate Officer, Deputy Corporate Officer, and Bylaw Enforcement/Animal Control Officer. This includes coordinating the schedules of the Mayor and Council, CAO, CO, and DCO, arranging meetings and making appointments.

The Administrative Assistant supports the Records Management Program by assisting with the maintenance, safekeeping and lifecycle management of official records for the City of Kimberley. This position also provides reception service for the Corporate Administration Department including processing daily mail, and scanning to electronic filing system.

This position must maintain a high degree of confidentiality on all issues.

Qualifications
Applicants must have completed a two-year Business Administration Diploma, or equivalent, and have a minimum of 3 years of corporate office experience, preferably in a local government setting (or a combination of training and experience).
A valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License is required.

Additional Information
This is a salaried position, based on a 37.5-hour work week, and relocation assistance may be provided to the successful applicant. Shortlisted applicants will be required to undergo a Police Information Check and/or a verification of their education credentials.
