Assistant Project Manager
(Temporary Full-Time, 2 years)

Our Integrated Planning Division is looking for a temporary full-time Assistant Project Manager to join their team for two (2) years based on operational needs.
In this role you will provide administrative and project/business development work of considerable complexity and variety related to project management, including project liaison and coordination of a range of business improvements and IT related projects. Following a clearly identified Project Management Framework, you will be responsible for supporting needs assessments, initiation, planning, coordination and management of related projects within the Division. On IT projects this will involve working with an IT project manager. Activities include developing business process, supporting/leading needs assessments for new initiatives, supporting continuous improvement on existing initiatives with workflow development, process definition, supporting, testing and roll out of new initiatives, preparing terms of reference for the selection of consultants, coordinating and participating in the preparation of reports.
You will act as a liaison and coordinator between internal District divisions to ensure desired results; prepare project schedules and budgets; chair meetings; review reports and project deliverables at various stages for conformance to project needs and established standards. Prepare and maintain a variety of materials such as records, status reports, correspondence, and project specifications; monitor and assess progress and perform additional related work as required.
You will have post-secondary education related to project management, Business management or civil (or other) engineering, along with a minimum of 3 years of related experience in a project coordinator or management role. A technical certificate, Diploma or Bachelor’s in project management or Business or a related field is expected. Project Management Professional (PMP) designation and an engineering background are assets. A valid Class 5 BC driver’s licence is required.
