Position Overview
The Sunshine Coast Regional District is currently inviting applications for the part-time (0.2 FTE) temporary position of Capital Projects Coordinator, Community Services. We are looking for a friendly and talented person to join our team! This position is approved for one year, with the possibility of extension. If you are a highly organized, service-oriented individual with excellent interpersonal skills, who thrives in a fast-paced environment, then this is the role for you. Under the general direction of the General Manager, Community Services, the Capital Projects Coordinator performs a range of engineering design, project management work and activities, and coordinates and oversees the design, tender, and construction oversight of projects partially within Infrastructure Services as well as the Ports Division within the Community Services Department. Although a CET Diploma or degree is preferred (please see job description), an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Compensation and Hours of Work
This is a bargaining unit position with a wage rate of $42.75 per hour, working, on average, 7 hours per week (0.2 FTE). This position offers 4% vacation pay, as well as 5% in lieu of statutory holiday pay (after 30 days of employment), and pro-rated sick leave (after 90 days of employment). This wage rate will then expand to include an additional $3.05 per hour cash-in-lieu of benefits, and 6% vacation pay, upon successful completion of a four-month probationary period with the SCRD. After passing probation, the SCRD also provides for eye exams and eyewear, on a pro-rated basis, for the hours worked. Part-time, qualified employees are also eligible to join the General Casual List, for potential on-call employment in other divisions, provided the casual work does not conflict with regularly scheduled hours.
