70 hours bi-weekly; Monday to Friday between 8:00 AM – 5:45 PM (Nine-Day Fortnight)

Reporting to the Major Case Management Information Systems Administrator, this position performs moderately complex clerical and typing work in providing support for the Major Case Information Administrator at the Burnaby Detachment of the RCMP. Samples of duties related to this position include organizing incoming investigative information and entering into electronic files; ensuring that investigative information submitted to the electronic files is complete, accurate, consistent and compliant with established standards and practices. Compiles, edits and reviews preformatted reports, under strict guidelines. This role will be scanning documents in an efficient and accurate manner. An understanding of the RCMP’s role and overall workflow is required. Performs related work as required.

Qualifications include up to high school graduation including or supplemented by courses in typewriting, word processing and standard commercial subjects and considerable experience as a Clerk Typist II; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Thorough knowledge of business English, spelling, punctuation, and arithmetic. Considerable knowledge of modern office practices and procedures. Sound knowledge of the applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures which govern departmental activities. Sound knowledge of the methods, practices and procedures used in operating RCMP computer systems and other computer terminal equipment to enter, revise, update and retrieve information. Ability to understand and interpret oral and written instructions. Ability to assign and supervise the work of one or more subordinates engaged in a variety of routine office duties. The incumbent will be required to obtain and maintain an RCMP Enhanced Security Clearance.
