This role reports to the Vice President, Human Resources. Reporting directly to this position are the Manager, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, and Manager, Organizational Development.

What you will do in this position
As a senior leader within the Human Resources team, this role is accountable for leading Human Resources initiatives, programs, and processes in support of a diverse and inclusive People First culture. The Director, Organization Development (OD) & Employee Experience leads the OD & Employee Experience strategies that contribute to the overall vision and goals of the University. These strategies include equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI), employee engagement, employment branding, onboarding and offboarding, leadership and professional development, performance management and succession planning. This role leads the organizational change management strategy, and its implementation, as it relates to culture, engagement and a respectful workplace. This role serves as a change agent to propel the organization toward the achievement of its vision. This position develops and maintains strong partnerships with business leaders.
What you will need to be successful

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related. Preference for a Master’s degree.
  • Minimum of seven to ten years’ experience in Organizational Development and/or Talent Management, in a leadership capacity.
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Certificate in Change Management an asset.
  • Provincial Instructor Diploma an asset.
  • Training or certification in EDI is considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated experience in the delivery of programs, processes and tools, e.g. Leadership training.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and networking skills.
  • Demonstrated team leadership and the ability to engage and motivate employees.
  • Demonstrated ability to liaise effectively and diplomatically with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders and to advocate on behalf of the University.
  • Strong time management skills and initiative, and the ability to collaborate on project based work.
  • Proven ability to influence and work in a collaborative manner.
  • Proficient with Learning Management Systems, Talent Management Systems, Application Tracking Systems, and performance assessments.
  • Sound working knowledge and understanding of EDI, organizational development, change management, employee engagement and organizational design.
  • A high level of cultural competency.
  • Demonstrated ability to deal tactfully with sensitive issues in a confidential manner.
  • Demonstrated ability in the delivery of processes, tools, sustainable programs and participating in the development of accompanying programs and policies while applying practical methodology.
  • Ability to think innovatively and creatively in planning and developing a fresh approach to existing activities, with a continuous improvement perspective and incorporating best practice HR

  • Intercampus travel is required, possession of a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle is preferred.
