Engineering Technical Clerk (Development)

Permanent Full-Time Vacancy

The District of Lake Country is seeking a permanent full-time Engineering Technical Clerk (Development) to join our team. Reporting to the Manager of Development, and as a member of the Engineering and Environmental Services Department, you will be responsible for providing technical administrative support relating to engineering files, applications, permits, agreements and legal documents. Additionally, the Technical Clerk provides research assistance, analysis and reports and assists the department in preparation of correspondence and presentations to Committee and Council, all with an exceptional ability to tactfully deal with internal and public inquiries.
The successful candidate must have:

  • Minimum of two years towards a college diploma in business administration, computer technology, public administration or related field;
  • Minimum of six years’ experience in local government, with at least three of those years in engineering or infrastructure departments;
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

While the work is primarily in an office environment, visits to construction and development sites may be required, therefore, operation of a motor vehicle is required.
The normal work week is 35 hours, Monday to Friday with the option to join our Earned Time Off Program. The hourly rate of pay for this unionized position is $32.62 plus a comprehensive benefits package including wellness leave, vacation, extended health benefits and pension. A probation rate of 90% applies to the six- month probation period.
