We are currently looking for general interest Recreation Instructors who are passionate about sharing their expertise in the following areas:

  • After School
  • Cooking
  • Crafts & Hobbies
  • Dance
  • Gymnastics
  • Languages
  • Music (Guitar, Ukulele)
  • Racquet Sports (Pickleball, Badminton)
  • Technology
  • Visual Arts

 
As a Recreation Instructor, you will be a part of a dynamic and inclusive work team, and will use your ability to share your passion with others in the community. This opportunity is a great stepping stone for those looking to pursue a career in recreation, and also allows for flexibility and work-life balance.
 
The successful candidates will be team players with excellent communication and people skills. Prior instructing and/or coaching experience is essential, as is current Emergency First Aid with CPR ‘C’ certification or equivalent. Foodsafe is required for cooking instruction. Please note that a valid BC Drivers Licence or equivalent, High Five certification, National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP), as well as experience teaching children and youth, and/or adults and seniors are all considered assets. Shifts are varied throughout the year and programs run out of different facilities in the City.

The City offers an hourly wage starting at $20.40 per hour depending on the type of program + 4% in lieu of benefits. In addition, you can anticipate a lively, fast-paced environment, plus opportunities for personal and professional growth.
