The City’s Recreation Department is looking for self-motivated, responsible, energetic and enthusiastic Recreation Leader – Children Services to work in our children’s program activities.  This is recreation work that involves instructing/facilitating programs and services, preparing individual program plans and promoting interest and encouraging participation in program activity. Duties are performed within established guidelines but independent action and initiative is exercised on individual aspects of the programs.

The preferred qualifications for this position are:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Six months experience working with Children 12 and under in a recreation or related setting
  • Minimum of two post-secondary, three-credit courses related to working with children
  • BCRPA High Five Training
  • Standard First Aid
  • Food Safe Certificate
  • Valid BC Class 5 or 7 Drivers License

The 2022 rate of pay for this position is $24.21 per hour plus 12% in lieu of vacation & statutory holidays.   Qualified individuals are encouraged to apply online by July 19, 2023 at quoting competition number 23-102c.
