TRANSIT SERVICE COORDINATOR I

This position is responsible for the day-to-day scheduling of drivers and buses to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of Transit service. The preferred candidate will possess: the ability to deliver exceptional customer service in person, by phone, and by email; the ability to understand and interpret departmental rules, regulations, policies, and procedures; a flexible schedule for working varied shifts; the ability to maintain positive working relationships with both internal and external contacts; proficiency with MS Word and Excel; and skill at troubleshooting complex logistical problems.
The successful candidate is familiar with the North Shore and surrounding area and possesses Grade 12 education supplemented by computer, and customer service courses or a combination of education and practical experience in a similar environment. Relevant public transit or charter bus operations experience would be considered an asset. A valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence is required.
The successful candidate is required to supply a police information check and a copy of their credentials.

Hours of Work:
Hours and days of work may vary (shift work with various hours and days including weekends, evenings, and early mornings, on a rotating basis)
Starting Rate of Pay:
$34.24 per hour (2022 Rates) plus 12% in lieu of benefits
This position has a pay structure with five steps increase after certain hours.
