User Support Assistant

1 Regular Full Time & 1 Temporary Full Time (12 Months)

Our Information & Communications Technology division is currently looking for a self-starter with strong problem solving abilities to join our team! This is a fantastic opportunity to further your skillset and work alongside a group of motivated ICT professionals. The successful incumbent can look forward to providing technical user support and problem resolution services to internal clients throughout the City, including hardware installations, imaging of PCs and laptops and other hardware requests. The successful candidate will also be responsible for referring unresolved software and hardware malfunctions to technical specialists, and handling necessary follow-up. Lastly, this role will be required to assist with the ICT Support Desk as required.
Our ideal candidate will possess the ability to work independently as well as part of a team, and demonstrate sound judgment in resolving problems within their scope of work. They must also display superior customer service skills needed to assist internal users with their requests efficiently and effectively. Required qualifications include the completion of Grade 12, supplemented by information technology or computer science coursework. They must also have previous related experience working in a similar IT Help Desk or technical support role. Experience working in a municipal or government environment considered to be an asset. Any equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered. A BC Driver’s License is required.
The City offers a competitive salary of $31.56 to $37.12 per hour (2022 rates). The RFT position offers an excellent benefits package while the TFT position offers 6% in lieu and some additional benefits. This position is based in Coquitlam with some flexible, hybrid work options available.

Applicants under consideration will be required to undergo a police security clearance evaluation and submit a driver’s abstract (with no adverse reports).
